The previous Muslimah Anggun, let’s take a look what bloggers say

In August 2008 invoke.sg held a Beauty Contest called Muslimah Anggun.
Below is the video of the Muslimah Anggun finalists.

It’s pretty interesting to see what bloggers say about this contest ;

She said:

" I wonder what the objective of this contest is. Are they trying to find a Muslimah role model? I would understand the need to have a good Muslimah role model, rather than just having the likes of Maya Karin, Fasha Sanda, Rihana or who’s that troubled singer with very big hairdo and very thick eyeliner who reminds me of Morticia from Adam’s Family? ………. Whatever. Anyhow I truly understand the need.

If that IS the objective, is the criteria enough to find or name a ‘Muslimah Anggun’? Then after that, is it enough to just ‘crown’ her, give her a thousand and end it there? "

There are many other points shared by other bloggers at the threads tagged with that post. From Miss Universe and even to the extend of boycotting the contest.

Another interesting thread comes from invoke.sg multiply, http://invokesg.multiply.com/journal/item/23/Muslimah_Anggun_2008

Whether or not the organiser have a good intention, I’m quite sure that readers stumbling upon this post do have something to say about this too, right?
