ALGERIA: AQLIM struggles to recruit in North Africa

Membership of AQLIM has declined considerably of late as the group struggles to recruit new members. In the Wilaya of Boumerdes province in North Algeria, no recruitment has been reported over the last five months, in contrast to 40 young men joining in 2005, 30 in 2006, 14 in 2007 and 6 in 2008.
